Blogger of The Month: Jentine

World. Meet Jentine. She's the woman behind My Edit and not to get all hokey here or anything but she was one of the blogs that made me decide to start fashion blogging. That is why she is my very first Blogger of the Month! Her style is completely unique and she'll always keep you guessing what look she's going to pull off next. I can say with complete blogging confidence that she has a magic thrifting ability like you've never seen and a husband with the same name as mine (just in case you were wondering).
Me and Jentine "sat down" in cyber space and she revealed to me the deepest darkest secrets of her past. Ok more like a little insight to how awesome she is.

Q:How would you describe your personal style?
A:My personal style is growing. The more I style blog, the more I am willing to take risks and have fun with fashion...

Q:What was your favorite item of clothing in high school?
A:My big, brown Candies 'work-inspired' boots. I remember my mom paid quite a bit for them but they were sturdy and they had to last me for a long time. They were clunky and totally unlike what the other girls were wearing. I wish I still had them so I could reality check where they fell on the line of awesome vs. ugly.

Q:What would I find in your refrigerator right now?
A:Tricky question.... usually I am in charge of the groceries and the fridge at least has the basics; Diet Coke ( I neeed to kick this habit...), Red Delicious Apples, plain yogourt, old cheddar and cucumbers. But I've been so busy lately that grocery shopping has been kinda disorganized and sometimes I have opened the fridge to some half used salad dressings and that's it. And beer for Matt.

Q:If you could have any clothing item right now what would it be?

A:Hmmmm.... I don't really lust after current designer stuff, I just accumulate by thrifting....Ok, I am looking for the perfect pair of nude, plain leather pumps and Aldo has them but they don't ship that specific colour to Canada (why?????). So, if I could have anything I wanted and budget was no issue, I'd say that I'd like some high-end nude pumps.

Q:If someone wrote a biography about you what would the title be?
A:Í Hated Highschool but It's Ok Now Because I Have a Fashion Blog.

Q:What are your pet peeves?
A:Drivers who don't acknowledge you when you let them into your lane, litter bugs (have you even heard that word since Gr. 6?) and talking about babies for longer than 27 minutes.

Q:What is your most embarrassing moment?

A:This is a good one... very embarrassing. Long story short, I yelled across a bar patio at my boss of that time that I had a dream about him last night and... it got awkwardly silent as everyone stared and he got really red. I did have a dream about him (just funny not funny stuff) but telling him across a patio in front of the entire company was not my wisest choice.

Q:How did you get involved in fashion blogging?
A:I saw a fashion blog in Domino magazine which opened my eyes to a whole new way to avoid real life. I have always loved writing but didn't do it enough and loooved clothes so I thought 'I can do that'.

Q:Do you have any advice for fellow fashion bloggers?

A:Don't go into it thinking you are going to be the next 'What I Wore'. Find your own angle, comment and join in the community but (here comes the cheesy but true advice) don't sell out on who you are. Oh ya... and outfit pictures look best an hour or two before the sun sets. All the colours look clear and glowy... it's the golden hour baby!

Need I say more. She's awesome right? Go check her blog out here  but be warned your little mouse won't be able to resist from clicking the follow button.

If you'd like to be featured for October. Give me a shout out. I'd love to talk.

Happy Weekend Everyone!
