The Wreckage

Outfit: Trench: Macy's, Jeans: Thrifted (Downeast), Blouse: TJ Maxx, Belt: Thrifted, Boots: Gifted (Madden) Scarf: Made by my lovely sis

I feel like this today.
Do you ever have those days where you're just so wound up,
tightened up like one of those knots in your necklace that you just keep tugging and tugging on
and it just keeps getting smaller and tighter that you know that knot will never be a lovely necklace again.
Just a wreckage of chain that was once wonderful.
That is me. Well was me.

It has been one stressful week my friends and I was ready for an awesome relaxed weekend and I woke up this morning and my entire apartment was flooded. I'm talking two inches of water everywhere. On top of that I woke up with this monster of a cold and lets just say....this weekend wasn't at all what I planned.

Me and Sir Matt just looked at each other and uncontrollably giggled at the awesomeness that is our life and made some Oreo Balls to celebrate our first home catastrophe together.

When it comes down to it, stupid floods and oreo balls are the things that make our life OUR LIFE.

And I'm okay with that.

Anybody have tips on how to survive the wreckage after your apartment is completely destroyed?

  4. That is such a bummer about your apartment, but it sounds like you have the right attitude :) Sometimes all you can do is laugh! My apartment flooded in college, my best advice, find a good dry cleaner for all of your clothes.

  6. OMG that's terrible! I have no experiences with floods but I hope all your stuff is ok - will insurance cover it?

  7. oh man, when I was in college we had a pipe freeze and break in our laundry room in the house I was renting. The laundry room was on the second floor, too, so not only was the entire upstairs flooded, but the entire ground floor as well. It was awful!

I hope you get everything cleaned and dried up quickly!

In other news, I LOVE your scarf!
