Revival Files: Dress Makeover

Total Cost = $4
There's something I need to get off my chest.
I hate sprinkles.
There I said it.

I mean here's the thing. 1. They taste like nothing  2. The texture is not good unto me 3. They make desserts look like they're trying to hard, they're all "Whoa whoa whoa guys, you really need to eat me, I have all of the primary colors conveniently located on my top." 4. If you ever "sprinkle" things, you end up with little sprinkles conveniently wedged in your counter top cracks for life.

Nuff said.

I don't like them.
Oh and also today I felt grateful for my opposable thumbs.
The end.

*random side note: I'm having a hard time keeping up with comments via e-mail. How would you guys feel about me being one of those awkward bloggers that comments in her own comment section to respond to people? Everyone who agrees say yay...just don't say nay. Nay is for horses, say nope or nuh uh or something like that.

  1. Yay. Why not?! :) Cute dress re-do, btw. I second your emotion on sprinkles, too.

  5. Being one of those awkward bloggers that responds to comments in her own comment section...I say YAY!

  6. 1. love this dress transformation!

    2. have you ever thought about making your own sprinkles? They can be any color or flavor you want! You might just change your mind :-)

    3. I think responding to comments in a blogger comment box doesn't make sense, because there's no notification. If you switch to something like Disqus where you can reply to individual comments it might make sense.

  7. The new dress is fabulous! It looks great on you. I need to learn to do what you do.

  8. if only i could take you with me when i'm thrifting... you find the greatest finds!

  9. I love the dress! :) I also love sprinkles. We'll agree to disagree there. ;)

For comments...you have to do what's right for you. I personally am one of those people that doesn't ever go back to check and see if a blogger responded, so the only way I know is if I get an email reply or a reciprocal comment.

Real life comes first though, and if replying through email is too much, then you have to cut corners somewhere. :)

  10. What a beautiful dress! Great job :) And my only issue with replying by commenting is that it's hard for me to keep up with returning to the blog to read the replies! But that's just me!

  11. I think that you should do whatever you want on your own blog :)

  12. Seriously girl. You got some mad skilz with a sewing machine! :)

Since I am one of "those awkward bloggers" you speak of...I say Yay! ;)

I switched to Disqus and respond to comments right there. So much easier!!

  13. Um, agreed about the sprinkles. They taste like wax...after experiencing a waxy film coating on my retainer after eating sprinkles circa grade 6 I could never get back into them...the fact that they call them "jimmies" in south jersey probably also contributes to my dislike. Just sayin'.

I also recommend Disqus! You can reply in the comments and the person gets it in their email! YOU also get comments in your email and you can respond directly :) I like!

  16. I agree, sprinkles are worthless pieces of colorful wax. Weren't we having this conversation earlier?

  17. I can't believe that dress is out of denim. (Is it? Or am I just tricked by your pictures?) You had me fooled!

  18. Yet another awesome dress transformation!
Like others have said, I recommend installing Disqus. It makes interacting with reader comments so much easier.

  24. sprinkles are pointless. am i rude if i say i'm not a fan of the reply in comments? i just always forget to check back on something i've commented on which means i never end up seeing replies.

  25. Totally adore the job you did on this dress!

  26. You are hilarious. I love all your posts.

As for commenting, you gotta do what you gotta do. I'm terrible about replying to my comments, so I never knock anyone for the method that works best for them.

  27. Your grandma poses are getting better than ever.
Sprinkles are as useless as pinky toes.
Yes, I would check back in the comments sections for replies (if my comment warranted any reply, which it doesn't always, so don't feel pressured).
    :)

  28. Yay for the comments. I love sprinkles! I'm so sad that you don't! :/ Lovely refashion the dress looks wonderful!! :)

  29. oh im totally one of those bloggers who responds in their comment section because I am way to lazy to email them the answer to their question.... I kind of agree on the whole sprinkles thing - they taste weird.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Oh I was reading your posts in reverse order and commented asking why the change in my last comment. Here I see it. I like comments in the comment section in general because I read others people's questions and answers and I learn more. Before I just read questions and was left wondering.

That's what happens when you get popular... you have trouble keeping up. I don't have that trouble (I'm not popular so I have tons of times to reply to comments)!
